Setup wizard: Choose an archetype
Step 1 of the onboarding wizard — choose the type of SaaS product you are building.
What is an archetype?
An archetype is a preset configuration profile that pre-fills sensible defaults for your app type. Choosing the right archetype speeds up setup and ensures your app is configured correctly from the start.
Available archetypes
| Archetype | Best for |
|---|---|
| B2B SaaS | Multi-tenant software sold to businesses |
| Marketplace | Platforms connecting buyers and sellers |
| Dev tools | APIs, SDKs, and infrastructure products |
| E-commerce | Online stores and checkout flows |
| Content / Media | Subscription content platforms |
| Healthcare | HIPAA-adjacent clinical or wellness apps |
| Education | Learning management and EdTech |
| Consumer | Direct-to-consumer mobile or web apps |
How it affects setup
Your selected archetype pre-fills:
- Default plan names and feature sets in Step 5 (offering setup)
- Suggested environments (e.g., staging + production)
- Recommended entitlements
You can change any of these defaults later.
